I have wanted to learn to make soap also. Would like to have someone show me how the first time...in person.

I make cold process soap every year for Christmas gifts. Always do one lavender, usually pumpkin spice, and anything else that sounds nice. I buy many essential oils and fragrance oils from Brambleberry. About.com/soap is a good source for information.

Wow, there are lots of soapers here, how lovely :-) Roxie, no I don't sell my soap now cause I feel like I'm still in the learning and experimenting phase and because in order to sell soap I would need insurance and right now I'm low in cashflow. But perhaps someday in the future. For now I'm just having fun experimenting with scents, colors, different recipes, and making fun soaps like beer soaps and salt bars. I'm participating in a scrub swap (you know..... sugar/salt scrubs) and will have to come up with a good recipe soon. It's a little out of my comfort zone but I love a good challenge. The best part is receiving different items from the other members of the swap.....I love it!

well.....happy quilting and soaping everyone!
