My Mom was as good as she could be, given the era she grew up in and how she was parented. Dad was a sperm donor, didn't contribute anything to us five kids. Both have been dead since 85 and 87.

My mom passed in December and it's tough not having her here. She was my biggest fan. If you are lucky enough to still have your folks cherish them.

I have told so many people to love and cherish their parents while they have them, for they have no idea how much they are going to miss them when they are gone. My dad passed in 1981 and my mom in 2002 and I still miss them so much. One of my older sisters--she was my best friend--passed a week ago, and I'm going through the grieving process again.

I was fortunate to have my mother until she was 98. I lived 27 miles away but I spent every day with her.

I lost my Daddy a little over a year ago and even though we had a great relationship, I can't help but wish I had spent more time with him so I tell everyone to do whatever it takes so they have no regrets.

So, so true!! My Mom is 87, in nursing home. She realizes where she's at but her memory is fading fast. She was LVN in NH for around 25 yrs. She has said "I never dreamed I'd be in one of these". She doesn't like being so relied-on-others. I just keep telling myself, "I'll be in the same boat probably in 20 yrs, Lord willing for me to live that long".
