Just a little correction. Mackinac Island is in Lake Huron. Very beautiful clear waters.

None on the island that I am aware of. I looked when I was there two years ago. But I would not be surprised if Sault St. Marie has quilt shops. That is where you will launch off to the island. Another correction: to get to the island you will either take the ferry from Mackinac City which is on the south end of the bridge or St. Ignace which is the north side.
