Made some more sweet little dresses
My son had a housefire last Wed. and it began in my baby granddaughter's room, at the HVAC wiring. A tree had fallen on a wire outside. So my little Millie lost all her clothes and toys. Everything. What's a grandmother to do but start sewing? So here's my first batch. Hoping they fit her.
So thankful they are all ok.

Beautiful - wish it was just to make fun dresses and not because of fire.
My 6yo GD loves twirly dresses - I "cheat" and take a t-shirt and add the layered skirts. She can dress herself without any buttons. I always put at least one pocket in it - along with a small hankie made from the material.

I do hope everyone is ok and they are safe. The dresses are darling. I am sure you will have a good time making new clothes for your GD.
The dresses and shorts are darling I am sure she will love wearing them.

So sweet the dresses, as you already know dresses and sweaters can be replaced but children and grandchildren not so much.
I had some small hope for a granddaughter just because it would be fun for me, even though I was the mother of a boy and boys are fun too. But I decided if someone needed to dress like a princess, it could be me
I haven't had the access to my grandchild that I had hoped to, with Covid even though we have all been healthy we are following the guidelines and I haven't held him since he was 3 months old at Christmas -- and he'll be a year in September. But many grandparents live further away, and my little Leon has been a lucky boy with his daddy and mommy both at home most of his first year -- what a rare thing that is!
