Default Making a satin wedding sash

I have been asked to make a sash for a wedding dress. It is satin. Lucky me. Have watched several YouTube videos and not a one mentions to cut on the bias although the JoAnns where I bought the fabric said I needed to do that. I have never sewn satin before and while I have some extra fabric I don't have enough to completely screw one up and then make a good one.

Can anyone offer some suggestions or help? Luckily the bride doesn't want pleats.

    Thanks in advance, Chris

Is the bride able to sketch or give you a picture of what she's thinking of? You could be way off if she doesn't give you the picture of what's in her mind!

I agree with this. Depending on what she has in mind, it may not need to be on a bias.

Ladies, thank you but the bride just wants a sash and has no real picture of what it should look like. She said it was up to me. She did choose the color of the fabric and the thread. She knows she wants it 6 inches wide around her front and then tapering so it's tie-able and then flowing/going down to the floor. She's mostly a non-sewer.
