making your bed

When I was young, beds were to be made before we left to meet the school bus. One week, I was scolded several times for not making my bed. I complained (to the dachshund - because I wouldn't dare talk back to mom) that I had made the bed... I figured a sibling had forgotten, and Mom just picked the first kid home from school to scold. I worried over the weekend and Monday morning, I had the solution! I asked Mom to "verify" my bed was made before we went out the door. That afternoon, Mom met my at the door and had me sneak into the bedroom. The covers were off the bed, dragging the floor. Then she tells me, she was putting laundry in our rooms and saw that silly dog burrowed under the covers. He could get in the bed without disruption but he could not get out without taking all the covers to the floor!!
I still have dachshunds, but I only make my bed if I want to!

Since my DH is still in it when I go to work it does not get made in the morning. If I catch it before he decides he needs an afternoon nap I will straighten it out then. I don't worry about it too much but it does get cleaned up before I get back in if I want my share of the covers
