When we kids and were running in the house playing & laughing, chasing each other, getting too rowdy, my Mom would always say, 'after laughter comes tears' to try to get us to settle down and play less noisy... She was always right too, one of us would either fall down, run into something, or hurt each other scuffling and someone would start crying, meaning too much rowdy play usually end in tears...

When my sister and I would tease my Mother, she would say "You're going to miss me when I'm gone" and we would reply, "Where are you going or when are you leaving" and that would really make her mad.
Jello was a dessert we had quite often and would not want to eat it but my Mother would say "Eat your jellow it's good for your blood" Never did understand that. Or "Monkey see, Monkey do".

"Let's play the quiet game. The first person to make a noise loses!"

"Your sister will be your best friend someday" when we fought constantly.

"I need a time-out". When she was getting angry and needed to calm down before addressing the problem.

SH**. That is what my dad would use frequently. My mom, "You made your bed, now sleep in it." I use both all the time.
