Most definitely YES.

I was taught manners and
taught them to my kids.

My MaMa would have hit me
hard when growing up if
I did not say "Yes Mam, Yes Sir, Thank you, Please, etc".

of course, and I say 'excuse me' too when needed. I notice that most men never ever say 'excuse me', like they are entitled to get in the way etc.

SparkMonkey, I agree with everything you said. I also passed the need for good manners down to my children and they are teaching their children. Good manners are so deeply ingrained in me that I've said "excuse me" when I've bumped into a pole in a store :)
