This is good because I ran out of the fabric for the skin and was thinking I might make my next doll in either pink or pale blue if I didn't get to the store. I really hate not having a fabric store near me, no car either:(

I have an idea for a pattern.
Take a piece of paper 8" sq.
fold it in half and draw the body.. 'half' like you would a heart
Open it up and if you like the shape use this as a pattern, adding a seam allowance.
The rest is whatever you want to do
be sure and add a hanger in top corner and a tail at the bottom...
add details to the body...no arms no legs...can anyone else add to this

Here is a little info: When I participated in a Dotee swap a couple years ago, the swap leader told us to start with two nice pieces of fabric with a pretty design. The squares were to be about 6 inches. We were supposed to draw a pattern, sew all the way around except for the bottom. Cut it out (leaving about 1/4" seam, turn, stuff, sew bottom shut, and embellish! Add hanger and tail. (That's some info from the previous page).
Would it help to think that a Dotee is basically a little pillow? I have seen pics of them with the top not even rounded, which you could do just by pulling the stitches tighter on top.
