Yes MJ, Sandy should have my FQ. Mailed hers and Ritasmom at the same time. I use the manila envelopes also.

Has been a stressful day - not just because the internet. Called BCBS this morning, asking about coverage, when I learned that because I "upgraded" my policy with a lower deductible in March, with my premium more than doubling, everything I was treated for last year is now excluded from coverage. Those kinds of trainwrecks are exactly what drives me to binge on everything, but it was not even a consideration. Now, more than ever, I HAVE to get my weight WAY DOWN to be good to my knees. DH still wants me to order the Synvisc and get it injected - our cost is $800 from a Canadian RX.

Thanks for listening to me whine.

Can't wait for an update from Missy.
    Lynne,
Have you check with the pharmacies in India? I ordered my dh meds there and saved hundreds. We could see no difference, they even came in the same package.

I'm not recommending either way, just letting you know there may be a less expensive solution.
I've been researching medical procedures in India, they call it "medical tourism". Much less expensive with the same results.
No MJ, never thought of India. Will have to look. Buying in Canada saves us over $1000 for this prescription. Thanks for mentioning it.

Lynne, Meloxicam is another NSAID like ibuprofen, my Cataflam, even aspirin. They reduce swelling and pain to some degree, especially with arthritis.

Xylie, that kind of weight gain from a NSAID is a side effect that needs to be reported to your doctor.

JHolm, Dr Mercola had an interesting article on his site today about type II diabetes. I think he recommends restricting carbs and adding fats. I saved it for my son as his wife is experiencing problems. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...t-age-you.aspx If you'r not familiar with Dr Mercola's work, he prints a health news article first, then, after that, his view. It reads easier if you realize that.

Missy, take care and let us know how you're doing as soon as possible.

Edit for Rita'smom: Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Missy you are definately in my prayers. Even if you don't get all of the fluid off you are still well below your goal so everything should still be fine. Try to relax so you will be well rested before your surgery. Wed. is my birthday so DH is taking me up to Central City to gamble for the day(we hardley ever go so it will be fun)so I won't be on here till late. But I will be anxious to find out how you are doing. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers all day though.:)

Irish sorry you are hurting so much hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Well I made it through the baby shower ok. They had a fruit tray and veggie tray so I did ok just a small amount of each and very few mixed nuts, water, and I skipped the cupcake. Wednesday will be a challenge because the casino has a huge buffet that my husband loves to go to. I guess I will stick with my plan and have a very small portion of everything I want and hope for the best! I planned that if I reached my shot term goal by my birthday I would have chocolate cake for my b-day. I have passed my goal already but now I am not sure I want to risk eating it and stop losing again.lol I never thought I would see the day losing another pound would feel better than chocolate cake tastes!

Just a quick hello, been busy all day. Weighed in this morning and up a pound just can;t seem to keep moving in the right direction this month. Have to do more walking and more water and less eating even if it is healthy stuff.
Missy you take care and have a safe trip I pray for you every day for your success. I am so excited for you. I know you will do fine.
Have a great tomorrow and keep up the good work. I wonder how much weight we will loss at the end of the month all combined. It would be fun to add up all our losses and compare each month. Maybe a new twist. just a thought.

Gail, that'd be doable, but it'd be a lot PMs for someone unless we posted here. I think we'd need to add it up and divide by # of participants to get an average rather than a total as the # of participants changes by the month. I'm not really interested as I'm more concerned about health and fast weight loss isn't always the best for health. Short term, okay, but not month after month.

I know that's no where near what alot have lost. But that's fine with me.I went to a bbq for my grand=daughters graduation yesterday.I didn't blow it to bad. We were just across the road from my home. When we got home about 6pm It started storming. I guess by now everyone knows about the tornado that hit Joplin Mo. That is about 100 miles from here.As that storm passed through it was very severe. We are fine but the poor folks in Joplin. God be with them.Hope everyone will keep those poor people in their prayers.Gotta go walk my 2 acres. Mary
Well that's great,I lost 90 pounds in 3 yrs,so about 3 pounds a month. So it does add up.I am at a stand still myself. In fact my doctor put me on meloxicam,in 2 days,I put on 8 pounds of water weight already,so don't know if I can take it.Plus it's making me feel really tired. But will take some water pills and see if it helps.Plus I'm thirsty more, drinking tons of water.Yuk,feel like a floating battleship. No fat quarters for me I'm afraid. So,hang with it.Next month we all ought to be doing a little better,as for most of us,it is our first month at this,so we should be getting better and getting the hang of it.Hopefully anyway.So,4 pounds is good I think. With my 8 pound water gain,I'm only down to 7 pound loss now.Which is still good for me.So,I'll take it.Hang in there,it adds up.I'm proof it does.
Xylie, what does Meloxicam do? My ortho has had me on it for over a year to reduce swelling in my knees. Lynne
My dr. gave it to me to replace my celebrex. As I guess Meloxicam does the same thing. They both have a cox 2 inhibitor that blocks the pain chemicals from forming that causes inflamation and pain.My new insurance, won't pay for celebrex,it's too expensive.Did it work for you?

Oh,ok.I'll call tomorrow.I read the side effects could be up to 15 pounds of water retention, but it also just makes me feel so tired,so sleepy,I only took 2 so far. So,don't think it's gona work for me.Also read it can stimulate the appetite,so don't need that either. In fact the side effects were just plain scary.I know not all get them, but some of those people got water pit scars on their calves from the fluids and was in a real mess from it.I don't think those scars went away either. And it can cause strokes, and heart attacts.Today,my heart did have a slight pain twinge. So think diclofen {or cataflam} worked better,as we're trying to see what works better. And I didn't have any side effects with it either. As my new insurance won't pay for celebrex,it's too expensive. So,I'll have them put me back on diclofen. It worked ok.And no side effects. Thanks for telling me to let my dr. know.I know he wouldn't want me taking it,knowing what we do now how it's effecting me.

I can't ever have Celebrex. I have multiple heart problems - the first infarction when I was a whopping five years old. When Celebrex was first released, my then husband's doctor prescribed it for him. I asked my doctor about it for me. He told me never. That was years before it was restricted which I always thought that was interesting. Cataflam, which is one of the diclofenac ones, (Voltaren is the other) has been my drug of choice for years. No side effects at all.

My hubby & I read Dr. Mercola's info almost daily - we're changing many things in our diet, supplements, etc as a result of his articles - very interesting.

Ya,funny how different people have different side affects,or none.I never have any side effects from medications. This is the 1st time. And the diclofen didn't have any side effects.I'm afraid, the meloxicam will balloon me back up to 250 pounds,if it didn't kill me 1st.Tonight I got a dull headache.I haven't had a headache in years. They just aren't agreeing with me.Good thing I only took 2,and you told me.Or,I'd a thought it was normal for the pills to do that.I got them 7 days ago,but just started taking them 3 days ago.None today.I can get by with out them. And tomorrow,I'll get the diclofens back.As I got to go to town any way.So thanks, you probably saved me.
