I am Deb, I live in Ohio. I an 49.95. I refuse to addmit to being 50. I have sewn as long as I can remember, my mom made clothes and I learned from her. I started making blankets/quilts when my kids were young, I started with their receiving blankets. But just the last few years I have gotten into making photo memory quilts. I have not tried the fancy quilts I see on here, I just do plain ordinary ones. But that is what makes me happy. I am married, 2 grown kids, 2 grands and found out I have one on the way. I have already made a quilt for that grandchild, my daughter loved it.

socially aggressive...I LIKE that. I may steal it!!! LOL (hows THAT for agressive?)
I am Trish, 45, living in Colonial Heights, Va, but a New York girl at heart. Moved here in 2002 (to be with my new husband) from Staten Island, where I was born.

I have quilted since about 1995, I have been in retail for 20 years and worked at JA for 4 years (so tend to take great offense at the brush you gals can paint on the public face of the company--if you only knew, lol, but I digress---ALL retail is the same, when one gets to the crux...its about PROFIT, not about product or customer service)

I am first a photographer, then a quilter, however. (and claim to be a scrapbook-er, but it sits...) See my photo site under my signature, almost all that you see is available for purchase)

Empty nesters, (my dd lives in Wilkes-Barre, and my two step kids near by) we are kept by three ridiculous cats.

Hello from Texas. I'm BJ and I split my time between Lubbock, where my home is, and Austin, where my grandson is. I'm 59, soon to be 60, and I've been married for 40 years to my high school sweetie. I have a son, 34, and a grandson, almost 5. I've been quilting for about 10 years and I love it. I'm not getting much quilt time right now as my sewing room is 350 miles from where I am most of the time. Handwork is too hard with a grandson who wants to spend hours playing lego's with Granny and a rescue boxer who thinks he is a tiny thing and wants to sit in your lap.

I didn't do much quilting when my kids were home, but have really become addicted in the last 10 years. Four years ago, I started teaching quilt classes and I love that! Now I'm starting a retreat "business". I hope to hold week-long private retreats for about 6 to 8 women in different resorts throughout the midwest, so if you're interested, give me a hollar! I love this site and spend way too much time on it! We're also busy refurbishing an old historic home, so a lot of my time is spent helping my husband hang drywall, mud, paint, etc. It's a huge undertaking and I often feel we have bitten off more than we can chew but it's coming along. I belong to a quilt guild, but I don't go every month because it's over an hour away and I hate to drive alone so I only go when my friend or daughter go with me. I'd like to go tonight because I want to stop at JoAnns and get a bolt of muslin that's on sale. I'm retired and I love to travel, so I'm always ready and willing to go anywhere quilt related if I can find someone to ride along and if the budget allows. And I'd love to meet other quilters!
HI PAM!!!!!! I didn't know you were on here....This is cool! Nora

I'm Sandy; I live in Loudonville, Ohio, which is about half an hour north of Mount Vernon where Deb lives. In fact, my daughter is a nurse and works at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. (Deb, I'm also a breast cancer survivor, times two, 24 years and 8 years - yay!) I'm 58, married for 39 years (our 40th wedding anniversary will be in September), two grown kids and two adorable granddaughters, ages 8 and 5. I learned to sew as a child on my mom's Featherweight, but at some point during my 30's I stopped sewing. Decided to take it up again and got excited about learning to quilt. So far I've read more quilting books than anything else. If they gave prizes at quilt shows for reading the most quilting books, I'd probably win. :D We moved in January and I'm still working on getting my sewing room set up the way I want it. Hopefully one of these days I'll get my act together and actually get a quilt done and be able to post a pic.

    Hi I'm another Carol,
Live in Tipton Ca. (don't blink, but we do have an exit)
closest fabric 18 miles away, so I tend to Stash, or at least thats my excuse. Have been sewing, since around 13, I'm 44 now. Learned most at home, w/Mom and the love of it came natural. Have a sewing room, and mid arm, figured by the time pd. to have someone do the pile of U.F.O.'s I might as well jump? (After renaming it a few times, have gotten the hang if it since then.) Have to work hard at staying with 1 or 2 crafts, or I'd have to get a bigger
house. Recently changed careers, think it'll be a good thing, and try not to mix work w/play, and the quilting is great play or at least for me. I'm new to the board and glad I found you.... but computer challenged to a point, It's learning new names also.
    Nice to meet you all!!
