Default Met a Quilter at a Car Show!

I was at a car show yesterday. The wife of the guy next to me showed up around noon. I said "Hello" and they went off to eat lunch. Later when I was packing up to leave, she noticed the quilted bags I made to put my stuff in after the show and asked me about the fabric. I had one in my hand so I walked over to show it to her. She said "Did you do the quilting on them?" and I told her that I used them to practice FMQ for my kind sized bed quilt I was making which, of course, resulted in "quilting talk". She said she was part of the Tri County Quilt Guild which is one that I've been meaning to visit and see if I'd like to join it. She was so nice and since I'm getting close to being at least semi retired, we talked about that. So next month I'm going to finally get it together and go to this quilt guild meeting! I'm very excited! Since I'm going to be working a bit less now, I'd love to find a guild to be part of. Sadly, due to moving and in a couple cases losing friends, I don't have many quilting buddies left and I so need some f2f quilting contact. I think this will be so much fun!

It was fate that you ran into this lady. Be sure to go! It's easy to put off this stuff...I know because I do it all the time.

How wonderful! Do go and let us know how you like it. I was thinking I needed to find something similar. It's difficult for me to last more than a few hours due to health reasons (so classes are usually out) but I miss quilting talk as well with someone who is as interested as I. I thought perhaps a guild would be less time for meetings but not sure.

I do intend to go. I do the same, Watson. I've been thinking I should find a guild I like for a couple years now and I've just been putting off going. There's always some excuse to NOT go. Now I have a really good reason to go. I hate to accept a kind invitation from someone and then not show up. I'm definitely planning to be there.

I meet people who knit and sew when I wait on them. (I'm a server at a restaurant.) We should have a pin we wear or a secret handshake or something to find each other out in the world, lol.
