I have a son in the National Guard, he is an MP. He is deploying to Iraq in March.
Prayers to your SIL for his safe return, and to his family at home.
I've just read all of the other posts and tears are falling all over the place...I try not to think of my son going away, there is plenty of time for that when the time comes. I am very proud of him and all the soldiers at home or where ever they are.

Yep, my dad was in WWII also. He was captured and lived hell. He made it home with a rag tag determination to BE HOME. Long story, My ex was career US Navy, I was Navy Wife all of that. My son was in US Army for one tour. My son inlaw was a career US Army just retired 24 yrs. My significant other was US Army for eight years. I wanted to join the US Airforce but my dad would not sign for me. I can't tell you the reasons he gave because they aren't politically correct ...... or something like that. I cry for our 'kids', I pray for our troops, and I pray for the enemy to see the light. God Bless America
