The "Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Park" was just voted the most beautiful place in the USA. I live about an hour away and every year the grandchldren request to go to the dunes. The Sleeping Bear boat ride out of Frankfort,MI is fun also.

NOT Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota ...maybe NewJersey (NOrthwest corner), Wisconsin, and most likely Massachusetts. Now I have lived in most of these states and a few others. I need trees and something other than a flat terrain...can't be HOT, can't be brown, can't rain mud (sorry Texas!).

Just returned from the family cottage near Sleeping Bear. My hubby was blown away by how beautiful the upper lower peninsula is. He said, I can't believe that "that is a fresh water lake." Bless his heart, he is a Georgia boy!

Born in Michigan it is beautiful, lived in GA & KY they are beautiful, now live 5 min. from the sugar sand beaches of the Gulf coast of FL- Clearwater/St Pete it is also gorgeous here (have to admit, especially when everyone in MI is shoveling)! I've traveled all over US and many foreign countries. There has never been a time that I have heard "America, or America the Beautiful or the Star Spangled Banner" and not experienced tears of gratitude. We are so fortunate!!! That being said I do want to make it to Ireland Grace173. Some of my ancestors came from your breathtakingly beautiful country, and I hear her calling!

I have to say the Echo Trail in Northern Minnesota between Ely and Orr! It is so peaceful, so beautiful, lakes, streams, deer, moose, elk, bears, wild raspberries, blueberries, wildflowers, very Northern Minnesota. I love it there. Edie
