The handwork element...I find it meditative and I have a sense of accomplishment (usually do it in the evening so I can sit with my husband, we talk or watch TV).

I find cutting my pieces very relaxing. I know it's strange.

I love the machine quilting. It calms me. I save up a few to quilt and then put on music and have a great time.

While I love all aspects except the machine quilting, I must admit I really enjoy hand sewing on the binding.

When I'm at my machine, piecing and it comes together where it is supposed to and my machine is humming away, with music in the background. Alone except for my dog on the bed, looking out the window next to me.
