Bride Wars -- silly comedy
27 Dresses -- another silly comedy
Made of Honor -- yet another silly comedy
Brainless fun. Not deep. No thinking required. Everyone lives happily ever after as they should in brainless comedies.

Fiddler on the Roof is my all time favorite. You can't go wrong with any Masterpiece Theatre production. The movie Return to Cranford was sensational. One of the best I've seen in years. It's online to view for free now:

Thanks, everyone, for all your great suggestions!
I just spent the past hour or so looking them up and reserving them online at my library. Naturally, the library doesn't have even one of them on the shelf, but a couple are at other branches in the county, so I will have those in a day or two.
I put myself on the waiting list for a few more. For Julie and Julia, I'm number 170 on the waiting list, so I won't get that one for months.
Of course, I've seen some of them, especially the older ones.
Those of you who saw my thread about Slumdog Millionaire might have guessed that my movie request is an attempt to get my mind off the horrors of that one. I just really need to get my mind in a different place.
I did check Hulu last night and found good movies there but decided I couldn't take one more minute of sitting in front of my computer. So maybe later today. BellaBoo, I really appreciate your link to the Masterpiece Theater show, too. I may watch that first. That and Hulu should get me through until the library has the movies I asked for.
I made a list that will keep me busy for quite a while. Once I'm working again, I'll rent the ones I can't get now for free.

My all time favourite movie is Life is Beautifull...."La Vita Bella" it is an Italian movie that you can get in english. It is about the 2nd world war and the persecution of the jewish people, but from a different perspective...it is funny, and sad, and uplifting all at the same time.
