Moving to Huntsville
#1
My family might be moving to Huntsville. Alabama this summer depending on my hubby's job. We'll just have to wait and see what's being offered (compensations) in the next few weeks.
Does anyone here live in Huntsville? Are there quilt shops? If so, where? Yes, now on to the less important stuff. What can you tell me about Huntsville?

I live in Eva, about 25 mins from Huntsville. They just put in a Joann's in Madison and there are several others. I haven't been to this one yet, so I can't recommend it yet, but, I bet someone here has...http://www.patchesandstitches.biz/, looks nice anyway. In Decatur there is a Hobby Lobby,a Hancocks and the Quilters Refuge , about 10-15 mins from Huntsville, they have beautiful fabrics and can get you most anything if you ask. Nice classes too. The outshirts of Huntsville ,like Belle Mina, Madison are nice, not too crowded , but still close to the action. Unless of course you like the action. :-D This site has a lot of info on Huntsville..http://www.huntsville.org/about/our-cities/

I have several friends in the Huntsville/Scottsboro area. There are several quilt shops very near by as well as a wonderful quilt guild in Huntsville . Quilter's Refuge in Decatur AL is hard to beat for everything that is new. Just over the mountains in TN are some nice quilt shops.
Great day trips. If you want to save some money and still get good fabrics make a trip to Winchester TN and visit Hammers or to Dechard Needleworks in Dechard TN 5 miles north of Winchester for really good prices.
