My first grand child, a boy was a preemie born in May. He had a really slow start and made all of us wrecks !!! He's doing great now, at 4 months he's up to 10 lbs. 15 oz. and rolled over for the first time on Sunday. Hard to think of how little he was and how hard we prayed. Truly a very special child and the love of my life! I still worry, but then, I'm suppose to, I'm Gramma !!!

He is so adorable! The diaper is almost bigger than he is and I know how small they are. My oldest grandson was born at 24 weeks and weighed in at 2 1/2 pounds. He is now almost 14 and doing great. Those first weeks are harrowing, but it is so worth it.

Prayers for both of the preemie grandbabies. My niece was born at two pounds in 1957 and what a strong courages woman she grew up to be. She loved parachuting and made a career as an Air Force nurse. Remember from little acorns mighty oaks grow.

Grow Rainn Grow! My uncle was a premie almost 70 years ago. He was no bigger than a pound of butter (my Grandma's words) he had no eyelashes or fingernails. The Doctor advised her to let him go. She greased him up, put him in a small box wrapped in cotton batting and kept him on the old oven door. He grew to work in construction and lived into his 70's. Rainn looks like a little fighter, we'll be rootin' for him!
