We have a shih tzu male dog named Felix who will be 7 years old on April 22, 2010. We got him March 15, 2009 from a couple that was not able to take care of him. They told us that he was not a lap dog. Wrong, he loves sitting on our lap. He also gets ice cream on top of his dog food. When we got him he had 2 spots on his eyes, but now they are almost gone. He eats Iams dog food!

Also when he is sleeping he barks and growls in his sleep. It is so funny! He is barking now in his sleep while I am on this computer.

Also I play hide and seek from him, it is so funny! He cries if he can't find me!!! Do you think he is spoiled!

Also what type of dogs do you have and love to see photos!

My Cow, a Boston Terrier, barks, growls and howls while sleeping. He moves his feet as if he was walking too.

My schnauzer has taken up this GROANING thing...lay down - groan! sit down - groan! She's only two, but, from all the noise, you'd think she's 300!!! I think she been hanging around with ME too long! (groan)

I do have a shih tzu and she does that too.

Maybe it's the breed thing? Yeah, she's also 7 years old as of January this year.

We have a Shih-tzu too (Harley) and he barks and growls in his sleep too. It's the funniest thing, I tell hubby that he must be chasing squirrels in his sleep. He's such a buddy and loves laps too. He gives me the big, mournful eyes if there's a cat on my lap and no room for him.

We have a Miniature Dashund and i play hide and seek with her. First you have to hid and make a little squeek. She stops dead in her tracks and then bolts to come find you. And half the time she scares the bejebbers out of me!! Its so funny and cute!

Plus, when she wakes up and goes back to sleep she groans.
She also sorta runs in her dreams, she barks, and groans, and wags her tail! I wonder what she is dreaming of. Hmmm. :D

We have a pug - used to have a lab/saint bernard mix also. Both bark/growl in their sleep. Sometimes the lab would 'run'. Both wag their tails. It's really noticeable on the pug, as her tail relaxes until she wags it - then it curls again.

I'll try to add a picture... Hope they come through okay.

Teddy we had put down this past summer, as he was old, and having several health problems. It is so hard to lose a pet like him. He was truly a member of the family, and had protected my girls through so many things for a lot of years.

Teddy - on my daughter's sleeping bag - thought it was his!

Jones, our two year old shih tzu from Indiana, is a sleep talker -- just like yours, Craftybear.

His family giggles when Jones has finished his meal and burps! Oh, he drinks his water from from a bottle with a tube (like rabbits) and wouldn't know what to do if he came across a dish of fresh H20.
