I was at Goodwill yesterday, and I remembered how a woman on here suggested that we look at dresses and skirts for good cotton fabric. Lo and behold, I came across MY old jumper dress that i wore when my older two kids were little. I know for SURE it was mine. I had it made with handmade buttons, and they are there!
The print is still perfect anf beautiful, so I rebought my old dress, and I am going to repurpose it into quilt pieces. it is a beautiful cotton fabric with huge realistic red roses on a navy background. I have ot seen that dress since the early to mid-1990s. What comes around goes around!

I did not even think of the dresses and jumpers. They would have so much more fabric in them than a pair of jeans. I JUST started to collect jeans so that some day down the road I can get enough to make a quilt! I love to recycle things!

That is so cool that you found your dress!!! I love thrift stores and go with my DD's at least twice a week. I bought a handmade skirt yesterday that had over a yard of pretty red fabric. Can't wait to use it in a quilt.
