My first try at canning!!
#41
I used to can a lot when the kids were little and I was a stay at home mom. I had a small garden in the backyard but I sure got a lot of fresh veggies from it. I always enjoyed it because at the end of the day, I felt like I had accomplished something. It sure helped with the grocery budget, too.

I learned to make pickles at my daughter's MIL's house a couple of summers ago. I made some last year, and they are all gone now, so I guess I did OK! But I didn't have to do all you are doing. Just getting the jars hot and then letting them cool down. I guess because it's not cooked food, and the pickles are covered in vinegar. Hummm, I'm not a chemist, but that must have something to do with it!! :-)
