I am glad that you have happy memories of your childhood with your DGM. How nice of your Aunt to give you "Ginny".

Dividing things between family members can be extremely difficult at the best of times. Sorry for your loss but am happy you have something to remember her with.

The wonderful memories of your grandmother will carry you through this all. Unfortunately, you are so right about families and feuds/hard feelings after a death. Enjoy Ginny and those memories.

Sitting at your Grandma's machine will make you wonderfully happy. Isn't it just so true that all that is left of any of us once we're gone is memories???? Sounds like your Grandma made a lifetime of good ones for you :) :) What a beautiful legacy!

I understand your tears. I had to take care of my mother's things when she passed and yes, there was a problem. But it is nice to see Mom's things sitting around the house now. And for you to receive your grandma's sewing machine is wonderful. I'm so glad it sews good for you.

Even those tearful times will be precious memories as time goes on - you are so lucky to have gotten her old sewing machine - and those dressers should clean up beautifully in time - enjoy!

At first I had read "dresses" and immediately thought quilt. Had to go back and reread when I saw how many times you have cleaned them and they still needed work. Joke on me. BUT that also allowed me to smile all the way through the rest of your message. You have such nice memories of her and now you have some tangible things including the cards. Warm hugs.

I think it is wonderful that your aunt gave you some treasures. I am sorry that your grandmother passed away and some of the family are not getting along. Enjoy what you have.
