Cajun QUilter and Gunny your helpers are adorable. My daughter and DSIL has a b&w car named Sassy. I was over to their home on base one Sunday to put a quilt together. I have given them a huge Thomasville Dining Room table==has 6 extention leaves. ANyway after I sandwiched the quilt - using cotton batting for the first time. Went into LR to chat with her. When I went back to pin quilt - table top protected - Sassy has pulled quilt off table and the cotton batting was all torn up. I laughed so much!

I am hand quilting a king size bed quilt, so it's easier for me to support the weight by laying it on my bed, and I use a large oval hand frame on a lap stand. Of course, she has to lie right in the middle of the quilt, and if I have to shift position, or get up to go potty, she's right in the way. I find that I'll sit there and wait, so as not to disturb her. Isn't that crazy. What we won't do for our beloveds.
