My husband
#61
I just want to thank everyone so very very much! I love this forum and the people here :) Huggy and i are doing MUCH better now. You know, ive tried to quit smoking several times in the last year, and each time it was too hard for me. Well for some reason, this is hard to believe, neither hubby or i have had one craving for a smoke this whole time, not one, and i cant believe it. The only thing i can think, is that smoking almost killed my husband, so i have absolutely no desire or cravings for a smoke at all. I think the edgyness that we were having, was us both worrying about him, and our worrying was coming through as snapping at each other. A lot to worry about, especially what can he eat now. But we've made several trips to the store, and found a lot of things marked low fat and low sodium, so we are now discovering a NEW normal for us, and things are settling down. Thank you each of you for your kind thoughts and prayers. I think we're doing really good now :)

You and your dear husband are in my prayers. Quitting smoking is so hard, but keep at it. It's wonderful you both are doing what you need to to keep him healthy. It's hard but I know you can do it. ((((((((hugs)))))))))

We will be praying that everyday will be a little bit easier. Going cold turkey and just the emotional turmoil of about him and having him away is stressful. As he starts to feel better and you start feeling better from not smoking I am sure everything will get better. In the meantime you have us to talk to. All the best.

Switching to an all healthy diet involves cooking probably more then you have been before. Prepackaged/premade foods labeled low in fat and sodium are still processed and processed foods are not good for anyone. It will take time developing an appreciation for whole foods but the benefits will be so worth it. I am passionate about the right foods being a big help to getting healthy and staying healthy. DH still has his Big Mac and pizza now and then but it's not a once a month meal.
