How sweet!!! My mother is now 87 and in pretty good health but she doesn't do any of the crafts or baking that she use to. But I learned a lot from her when she did.

I like her attitude! Hope I can keep an open mind to learning new things as I get older.

How wonderful that you can share this hobby with your Mom.

My Mom passed away ten years ago. She was a very talented sewer and made some beautiful quilts. I was too busy with babies and life to quilt with her. Now I think of Mom and what a great time we would have quilting together.

What a blessing to have your mother, who started you on sewing and now to be taking an interest in quilting. I know you are looking forward to your trip and are excited that the two of you have a shared craft. Wishing you both many year of pleasure.

She proves the old adage, you're never too old! I know it keeps me company and, with DH quilting now, we have a hobby to share.

My Mom starting quilting 4 years ago. My Dad was ill. I took her a precut kit she could work on while sitting with my Dad. After his death she finished that one entirely by hand. She is working on 2 more quilts now, one for my brother and sister. My Mom lives with me now. I rearranged my sewing room so her sewing machine could be used in there. She bought a Janome made for quilting. She will be 80 next month. My Mom is the one who taught me to sew.
