My Mothers's Rose Bush.
#22
Love your roses. I have a red seven sisters rose and a pink 5 sisters rose that came from my grandmother's garden. The story goes that she brought these with her when she sailed here from England in 1907. I have to be very careful with this one bush because it really wants to go wild. She sure did have a green thumb. When we dug it up to move it in 1970 I swear the root went down to the equator. We dug the root some 6 feet from under the back porch before we had to cut it.

These are lovely. Roses are a perennial favorite everywhere.
I remember the Seven Sisters Roses! My Grandma used to have them climbing all over her front porch. I could sit by the hour counting which flower was what color and finding a match to it higher up on the vine. You don't see them much any more, and I don't think they are sold except maybe for folks who keep alive the old versions of plants.
