I have my stash of fabrics and patterns and notions and..... I don't have a problem, I can quit at any time, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL No twelve step for me unless it includes buying, cutting, folding, washing, ironong, sorting into like colors, sewing, quilting, hiding leftover scraps, fondling and also just admiring it.

I have the same problem, love that fabric. Just got back from Hancock's this morning with another bag full of beauties.. It is not a fatal illness, thankfully!

I don't drink, smoke or gamble. My fabric is my entertainment so I refuse to feel guilty about it or feel the need to explain it to anyone. As for the amount, who knows but something tells me that when you have a container of every colour plus other large Rubbermaid containers of novelties, backgrounds, backings, plaids, plains etc. then the stash is fairly extensive. I'll play in it, use it and share it until I am no longer able or interested in stitching and then it will be given away. My daughter affectionately tells me when that when that day comes, she will know that there is something seriously wrong with me and move me into the local "Old Folks Home". (I'll be ok there as she is one of the nurses!)

You need to "train" your DH like I did mine... he thinks EVEYBODY has a whole basement full of fabric & UFO's & that it's just how it is for quilters... LOL! Keep my secret for me, OK?

It sounds like she has enough fabric that we can just wrap up in it instead of sleeping bags... LOL!

Welcome Dawn. I have three Staple boxes full of different sampled material from all over the world plus two plastic crates and two smaller boxes. This is not counting the material by the yard, fat quarters etc I bought from Connecting Threads. I just started sewing from the sample material a table cloth for my kitchen table. Will post a picture when I'm done. Some times I don't what direction to go but, it's funnnnnnnn!!!

No, no! It wasn't like that! I only stopped there, for something for DH . . . (which I almost forgot) . . . and was just passing by the fabric department and there was this beautiful fabric, about to be discontinued . . . and if I didn't get it then, it'd be gone forever . . . and it was some I'd almost bought, several times before . . . and . . . and . . . it was crying out to me, I SWEAR!!! I HAD TO SAVE IT! I NEEDED - I mean IT needed ME! Yeah, that's it! That's what happened! Then there was another piece and I couldn't very well take one and not the other . . . and . . . then there was . . . .

    yes
