Everyone has one... Mine is people not using the search button
It really is very simple ... It is at the top of the page right next to the Live Chat ...."Home | Quilting Newsletter | Live Chat | Search |"
Easy to use, here is a link to it :
http://www.quiltingboard.com/search.jsp
Go ahead and play with it , you might be surprised what you find here already
If you want there is an advance search option also , and this can be accessed from the "search" area :
http://www.quiltingboard.com/search.jsp
If you know a topic has been discussed , use the search to try and locate it , before posting a question looking for it . Some questions keep getting posted over and over again. Some discussions have been beat to death, but keep being presented as a "new topic"
OK Off my stool now... Have a GREAT day

I really love the advanced search feature, it makes it much easier to find a topic from a member, specific area, etc...
Search picks up specific key words very well now, since Admin did some refinements a while back :D:D:D

I agree!
and I have only been here a month!
another peeve or maybe a question?
can topics be deleted in the classifieds section?
I have seen several over the last few days that have new posts(and are then at the top of the list) that are from several months ago.
even the ones that the topic has been retitled as closed or sold
so if you do a search it brings these topics up
seems like alot of wasted space on the board

sharon, I agree with you and I'll add a variation to it.
My pet peeve is folks who don't really read a query/post and automatically give the poster information what they think is asked for ...a very common response is "use search" or "google it" when the actual question may have been something that can't be answered by just a search. I've seen many, many posts that could have been answered by doing a search....BUT there are also those questions where more information is asked and we (yes, I include myself in this) sometimes read what we think they say instead of what they really say. OK, I've said it, now I'll move on! Thanks.

I have been guilty of this in the past. (slap my hand) Now, I try to ask things that have not been asked before. One specific thing that gets me is batting. I think it has been discussed at least 5 times just this year.....

I don't understand why some people have a problem with people asking questions about topics that have been previously discussed. I don't, nor do I use the search button that often. A person sometimes just *needs* to pose a question in their own words. Besides people, the more questions asked, the more active this forum. Give the newbies a break. It makes the board seem unfriendly when people won't answer questions and just say *use the search button* If you are sick of a topic, then just don't read it. JMO

my pet peeve #1 happens to be publicly posted pet peeves. what starts out as humorous reminders to each other can get ugly quicker'n you kin hit the send.
Peeve nicely, children. maybe this time we can get it right and have some chuckles.
;-)
Pet Peeve #2 - when i am the one who goofs.
I was a peever just the other day. i composed and posted the perfect answer ... to the wrong question!!! i had to delete myself.
