Congrats! You're quilting days aren't over, I have three of my own, and quilting is my therapy!

Mine were 26 months apart, I was lucky to have my son potty trained right before his sister came along. They were always very close growing up until adults. Then son got divorced and remarried and he is a different person. They are now 41 & 43 with kids of their own.

That is great news for you & hubby! Congradulations! I sure miss my kids being babies. They grow up way too fast. Mine are 34 & 37 & it doesn't seem possible. Enjoy them while you can!

There are advantages and disadvantages to any spacing you might have.

My brother and I are 8 years apart and I was a lonely only for a long time.

My kiddoes on the other hand are quite close in age...13 months apart, 19 months apart, 16 months apart, 2 weeks less than 2 years apart, and one month less than 4 years between youngest son and DD. One month and 10 years to the day between oldest and youngest.

When DD got to Jr High I said if I can survive 3 boys in Jr High at the same time, surely I can survive one daughter! And I did...sanity was optional at all times!

My brother and I were really close growing up -- at least until we were teenagers. :| Whenever I took my sister anywhere with me, people thought she was my daughter. After a while I just let them think she was. When I married, she was 3 1/2 years old and was a flower girl at my wedding. I wasn't sure she would actually walk down the aisle so I also had a sweet 7 year old neighbor as a second flower girl. They were so cute together. 8-) All of the attendants stood during the ceremony, and at one point Michelle looked up at me and asked, "Can we sit down now?" Too cute!!

The sweetie in my avitar is Michelle's daughter, Hannah, when she was 5 years old. Hannah is now almost 10 years old!! 8-)
OMG your little sister was so precious!! What a nice photo :D

Congratulations. Being the eldest of 6 I spent my teenage years saying no kids never. I have 3. lol However there is 4 years between the 2 girls and 5 between the middle and boy. They are now all grown up. Eldest daughter is 39, middle is 35, son is 29. I didn't want 2 in diapers at the same time. My siblings were stair steps and I got enough of changing and rinsing diapers then. Yuck. I live with my middle daughter and have plenty of time to quilt if my 4 legged kids let me. Having 5 puppies at once is a handful but I will take them any day over a baby again. I can put them in an xpen outside and have a few minutes of peace. :-)

Your days of quilting may be over temporarily but probably only for the first few months or so. I remember putting my sewing machine in the dining room when they were little and doing my 'playing' while they were doing theirs. I got a lot of sewing done that way.

And eventually they do grow up. We had 4 in 6 years. It was tough while they were all little but it does mean that suddenly they were all grown up at once too. The youngest starts his senior year of HS this year and then we will have an empty nest. :-D :-D :-D

Whoever said that the problem with close spacing is college tuition isn't kidding. We have three in college - thank God one is done next year just before the last one starts!
