I had intended to spend this rainy Friday getting a few things quilted. My new Cockatiel, Chico, proved to be a bit of a distraction....he was not content to stay on my shoulder - maybe a future quilter in the making???

    Chico was not much help!

Chico is adorable. Our cockatiel (1984-2005) Jimmie was my sewing helper. For the most part he would groom in his cage while I sewed, but I did have to close his door when embroidering...too risky.

I have a parrotlet Petie now, but I can't bring him in the sewing room to be my helper. He is too rambunctios and quick.

My lovebird, Loafie, passed away a few years ago and he was the only one I could trust to be with me while sewing. He thought he was a people and was not afraid of anything. I miss him so much!

He is gorgeous!!! Our little cockatiel, Ollie, loves to help me hand quilt. She also likes to leave little surprises on my quilts :) Her latest trick is to lay eggs.
