Ok, time for a break from all the eating and cooking. Grap your coffee and let chat a bit. I will be right back.

    Default Secret Garden

My friend came over last week and she came to the side yard where my studio is. She remarked that this was like going into a secret garden as the gate is all covered in greenery and all along the fence also and I never noticed it lol.
Here is a view of the gate to come in and a view just before. It's so pretty on that side. Hubby works in the yard constantly to make up for all the years he was unable to do it because of work.

    Molly watching squirrels.

What a great secret garden area you have! Your own private space. Molly is a doll. Is she a good helper in the garden-?

    Default The second Garden

Once you go through the gate, there is a tiny garden all by itself that was created by chopping down a huge Oak that was growing into the floor of the garage. We were so sad to see that tree go, so we left it with all the ground up stump which made a hill. Also, it's another safty area with gates for the dogs.

As the weeks went by, things started to grow in there including a Thallow (sp?) tree. I think maybe the birds brought the seeds. Hubby put some tomatoes plants in there and it got so bushy that now the Cardinals live in there and that is so nice.

Molly is checking stuff out. There is a papaya tree growing and tomatoes...

Default My Sitting area and the Squirrels

Now going through the other gate, is my area where Molly and I have coffe and feed the squirrels. She is so facinated with them. She just watches lol. I get a kick out of them and this particular day, I took my camera out with me....The cup in the pic above was already licked out by Molly while I was taking a pic, she doesn't miss a trick lol.

Here are some pics of the squirrels, peeking at us and taking a peanut and running away. I put them in four places and they find all of them and then come back peek at us. They are only three feet away from us lol.

    Default My Tree

Last time I show the tree it had yellow flowers, now it has the pink flowers. I thought I'd show you a pic of my John. He is admiring some Coleas (sp) that he planted from a tiny piece. You can see the pineapple garden right there too. We got the first one the other day.

We have been harvesting pineapples for years now. They just produce over and over. This garden is in front of the front window.

Thank you Mariposa. I love my Molly, she just clings to me. She is 11 years old and still looks like a puppy. She is involved in everything lol.

Loved having coffee with you and your garden makes me envious. We are about to get our first snow so the garden is a thing of the past here for this year. I raked the leaves out of the flower beds and dug up some bulbs so they can sleep for the winter. I have just finished putting up the Christmas lights and wreath outside...all I still need to do outside is get the greenery for arount the front door, fill the urns with cedar and fix the hanging baskets with greenery. Tomorrow will be a quick run to the nursery. After that, I can go inside and decorate the tree, etc. I do love this part of Christmastime...I am not so fond of putting it all away though. I am sure we will have a white Christmas..seems we always do and I do love that. Thanks again for the coffee break...it was so much fun.
