for my southern friends

So true... I was born in Alabama - Roll Tide - but my Dad was in the USAF so have lived all over. My DH is from the UP of Michigan so needless to say we've heard it all. His family always wants to just hear me "talk", and yes we say what kinda coke do you want. LOL!

We have a neighbor that did that for their son! There's a house a few miles from us that has an old Volkswagon haning in the tree. At Christmas time it gets lights and looks like a sleigh. Some how it made the internet at Christmas time and ended up in our email with several other strange Christmas decorations.
I'd move back north because I miss the snow. But I have to admit, the people down south will do anything to help a neighbor, even if they don't have the time, they make the time.

When my son was small, a yankee family had moved into town and had a son in the same kindergarden. The mother almost had a stroke when her son was reciting his alphabet and she heard him saying "are-a" for "R".
And yes, "coke" is usually the generic term for anything containing flavoring and carbonated water in a sealed container. Many people in the area where I grew up always referred to them as "soda water".
In regards to Louisiana - the reason they have such large doghouses (even when they only have a chihuahua) is because in Louisiana "FIDO" is spelled "PHIDEAUX". It's also the land where mathematicians learn that "pie are round, not square".
