I have one sister who is real easy to hate...SHE has all her Christmas shopping done by November 1, with everything wrapped and labeled, with a running total of who got what
and who got what last year and years before that AND their
comments on what they wanted later....
Me...I do pick up things over the year as I see them and know just who would love them...BUT I have a tendency to put them in well hidden spots, which I find in future years. Just ran into a bunch of little cars still in their boxes that I got for my only grandson. He's just gotten out of the Army with 2 trips to Iraq, has 3 kids of his own. Oh, well, he does have a 4 year old son now.
I've lived in this house a good many years and there are far too many hiding places here.

Last year my siblings and their spouses shopped for each other at thrift stores. We had a lot of fun. My sis in law found me some thigh high patent leather boots...too funny since I'm a comfy sandal kinda gal!

I started early and am almost done. I already have toys on layaway for my nephews and have already finished paying for some. My mother will be getting a pearl watch I got from The Stitchery catalog (it is nice...I was worried since it was made in China). My retarded brother will get a big stuffed animal as he does every year. My other brother will be getting the new John Grisham (got it from Amazon last week) and the new David Baldacci. My sister in law will be getting gift cards. I'm undecided about my aunt and uncle but am thinking on it. I'm on track to be done by Thanksgiving for the store bought stuff. The crocheted gifts will be extras if I finish them.

My kids think I'm crazy, but I have been shopping for 10 months already. I do a lot of online and store sale shopping. Whenever I see something that "fits" I buy it and put it away in my Christmas box. It spreads out the costs. I often shop clearance on the websites - always find something appropriate for someone. Last minute shopping for the latest craze type stuff for the grandkids.

no Christmas shopping for me-I started a few years ago donating to the local food bank in lieu of gifts to the in-laws/out-laws.
Things are so hard for so many and we are lucky that my husband is working that, I just couldn't justify a spending splurge.
I also quilt for charity and for the local thrift shop.
