You sound just like me and I will be interested in the suggestions everyone else has for you. My hairdresser is a very good friend but no matter what the picture I show her...my hair always turns out the very same. :( I see all these people with these really classy haircuts and then there is me...with a frizzy mop on my head.

Awww, Pam, I have always wanted a little more curl, I have waves. I do feel sorry for people who really do not like their hair. What the heck do you do then?

I talk with my stylist about what I like and don't like about it at that moment and then he does his magic and I have a wonderful style. Don't know what I would do if something happened to Dan.

Helen Mirren usually has good hair styles with gray hair.

I had let my hair grow as you see in my avatar, but got tired of having to blow dry it every morning, and it would still go it's own way most of the time. So I went back to the more or less pixie style that I'd had for the past 30 years...quick, easy, no fuss, and my best friend says I look younger with the shorter style...my daughter says I look like I'm supposed to again now! Guess I'll have to change my avatar...

I have very straight, fine, white hair. It is not thin (yet). I started spiking my hair about 6 years ago. It is the best do I've found for me. I cut it myself and whack somewhere fairly often. I know it would probably look better if I let someone else cut it, but the few times I have I usually go home and tweak it a little anyway. And I'm free!

Most of the time shorter hair looks better as you get older. If your hairdresser does the same thing week after week, treat yourself to visiting another shop. If there is beauty school near give one of the students a chance. Ask for an advanced student. Who ever you see ask questions before have anything done.
I wear my hair short, and have since I was about 8 years old. I do have thick and wavey premature gray.

My advice is....if you see someone with a hairstyle you love, ask them who cuts their hair and make an appointment with that stylist. I've been going to the same guy for years and at this point I just tell him to do whatever he wants because I know I can trust him. He cut my sister's hair once and now she has me make an appointment for her when she comes to visit from out of state!
