Default Need ideas for Mom's 90th birthday party

My mother will be 90 years old at the end of April. She still lives on her own, and drives.

I am trying to come up with some ideas of what I could make as "party favors" for my siblings, nieces, nephews and her friends to take that would be functional, yet remind them of my mom.

I've got some Happy Birthday fabric I bought several years ago and thought of making pocket tissue holders, coin purses, small cosmetic bags etc. She was born in 1925.

Only a month until I head to Florida, so I need some great ideas of things to make.

Anyone out there have any brilliant ideas for me? I'd like to make at least 40-50 items to put out on her dining room table for friends and family to take home with them.

    Thanks!

How about mug rugs. That is a practical item everyone can use. I make them using a block I want to make. They can come out so different when using tonals and various block patterns. Just have FUN making them.

Do you have any pictures of your mug rugs? My mom turns 90 in June and we're planning a small celebration. The mug rugs could be a cute idea. Thanks.

Refrigerator magnets are easy to make, inexpensive, and usually welcomed. Since they 'live' on the fridge, they're less likely to end up in a drawer.

I started searching this morning for fabric representative of the 1920's. Happened to find some really cute Roaring 20's - Great Gatsby fabric on Ebay and ordered several yards of 4 different ones. My mother-in-law turns 90 in October too!

I've decided to make a zippered purse for my mom along with several accessories (key fob, coin purse, tissue holder, etc). I have a cross body zipper bag pattern from Lazy Girl Designs that I can make for everyone else including a few other accessories.

Fabric should arrive by the end of the week, so I know what I'll be doing for the next 3 weeks!

I also thought it would be cool if all of the ladies in our group were to either make (or buy) a flapper style headband with some feathers on it along with wearing a feather boa to really embrace the 1920's theme for the birthday.
