    Hi
I tried to get this into 'recipes' but that section's not in the drop-down list of sections???
My DH used to like chili a lot, but I'm not all that crazy about it any more. So now that he's gone, I have a bunch of kidney beans still in my pantry, and don't know what to do with them.
Any good recipes out there that aren't chili???

Do you like bean soup? I take bags of many varieties of beans and mix them all together in a large container. The when I want bean soup I have a good mix!

Don't have recipes, but you can use kidney beans in bean soup along with other beans and there are bean salads that use kidney beans.

I don't have any recipes to share, but I did find the recipe link for you. Had to click "All Sections" at the bottom of the list.

Just do a search for Kidney bean recipes--there are THOUSANDS!
We love rice salad with them----cooked rice, chopped celery, drained kidney beans, chopped red onion, and your favorite dressing served on lettuce.
4 bean or more salad---drain beans--wax, kidney, green, garbanzos. Add chopped celery and onion, Italian dressing--cover and refrigerate for at least one day. You can add drained corn too.Keeps well and its yummy!

hummus......it is really made with chickpea but I make it with whatever beans I have on hand. If you look up a recipe it will have tahani if you don't have tahani you can replace it with peanut butter.

    Forgot DH favorite:
Put a serving of corn or tortilla chips on each plates.
Brown ground meat (we like pork since we raise them), drain, keep warm.
    Heat kidney or pinto beans.
Shred lettuce and cheese(your favorite kind).
Now top the chips with the beans, meat, cheese, salsa, sour cream, guacamole if you like, and top with the shredded lettuce.
You just made a haystack!GKs love this too!
We had this for lunch yesterday.....

since you live where it's cold, maybe you like soup. A young lady from Indonesia shared a soup recipe with me using kidney beans. I boiled an ox tail (a cut of beef would work as well) added the kidney beans with salt, pepper, sauteed garlic, a little sugar, chopped celery, and optional cilantro. Let it simmer for a while. It's quite good.
