need new printer / copier
My Hp printer bit the dust after 9 fateful years. Wondering what kind of printer some of you use. I have looked at a few but some do not copy true. Looked at a canon yesterday the young salesman had a hard time understanding that 1/8th of an inch out in the copying was a big deal.

My husband worked on copiers (big Xerox office machines) for a living. After checking them out he only buys HP. They have the best results for the cost. Get the one that has ink cartridge colors as separate. It is the least expensive to buy ink for in the long run. If a color runs out it will still copy in black and white if that is all you need.

I'm an HP lover and have been for over 20yrs. Some of those old printers are still working for me. My sister and a friend bought a Canon and had nothing but problems; first of all it was color blind, meaning you never knew what color would actually print out and the cartriges would dry out really fast and they were both constantly buying new ones. We use a lot of HP here at the hosptal and the others are all mainly made for businesses. Good luck on the search, it's hard because just because one person or 10 has good luck with one it doesn't mean you'll have the same. I bought my daughter HP that uses cheaper ink and it's also wireless, it was way under 100. You can go to their website and look. I love my all in one but right after I got it the motherboard went out so I took it back to Bestbuy and got it fixed. When it was time to renew my warranty I surely did so; just in case.

I have been using my wireless Canon for 3-4 years now. I personally like that it has the individual color cartridges
so you only have to replace the one color that runs out. My unit does printing, copying and scaning......

If you want something that will print photos on fabric - I was recommended the Epson Printer. I wanted an all in one so I got the artisan, but I understand there is even a better ink quality in a different Epson printer...and I can't think of it right now...I am sure you can find it online.
I used to like HP...but they are not the quality that they use to be...IMO. The ink was high too.

I have a 'Brother' MFC-J270w like it because All the colors are in separate cartridges so if only ones gone I only need to get but that One! its also Wireless Fax/print/copy/scan. Prints Great Photos so I'm sure it will do great job with the products out there for Quilt fabric printing too!

Make sure that the printer will still copy if the color ink runs out. My son bought a Brother years ago that would not print in black (black cartridge was full) if the color cartridges ran out of it. And it just took one of them to cause this problem.
