www.atkins.com is a good info site and you get a sample of bars and an net carb count booklet and some coupons etc. It also has a recipe section , forum, weight track, journal etc. Interesting though I found no recipe for the cocktail sauce I would use. but plenty others. Good luck to all those who want to give it a try. Like my brother said .... try it for 2 weeks...... this is my 6th week now. I decided to weigh 1x a month may switch to every 2 weeks cause you could be making a mistake and not realize it til .......so......I'm still excited. My tummy and face are showing the most improvement so far. Go for it especially if you can exercise too ! WOW ! can't wait to be down enough to get exercising !!!! Let me know how you are all doing , I think we can encourage each other a lot ! big hugs to all.

GO, TUTTY, GO! Don't worry about the scale...it's a spring-driven contraption that can set your mood and spirits into a hole. You're feeling it in your body and your clothes will also be loosening up. If the scale doesn't give you great results, you might lose your momentum. Just do it!

Listen to me...the pot calling the kettle black! I saw my nutritionist yesterday and she recommended a book, Intuitive Eating. It's not a diet book or concerned with calories or foods to eat, more about our minds. I ordered a used copy from Borders for a mere $7.41, and I'm guessing it might be the best investment ever. I eat for every reason under the sun, none of which is because I'm hungry. Got to get rid of that stuff! How I wish I ate like I give my car gas to run; that's all food should be...fuel to run the machinery!

This is a little OT but there is an artificial sweetner out there called Ideal and it is amazing. No after taste what so ever. I had not heard of it before till a friend told me about it and had me try it. You can cook with it and they also have a brown sugar version. A heads up though it can be very dangerous for any pets to eat so no sharing your sweets with them if you use it.

My former DH was an insulin dependent diabetic on a VERY strict diet. I made everything because it was a no salt no sweetner diet. I made catsup using cyclamate Because of the FDA rules - it stopped being sold in the US but it is OK in Canada. Cyclamate can be cooked with and baked without having any terrible aftertaste. If you know anyone in Canada, it is well worth getting it. It comes in liquid as well as powder. I made wonderful jams and jellies, too. Using a non fructose gel.

Try going on line to get no sweetener reciped -- I wish I had them available when I needed them

    Good luck -- Mim

The US FDA often disagrees with other countries.

In Canada saccharine and its derivitives cause cancer -- not in the US. Cyclamate does not cause cancer in Canada but does in the US.

On the other had - I just heard that carrots are now suspect --
