Need some advice

I saw a sewing machine tote on wheels at Goodwill yesterday and knew I wanted it. It was $25 and I was a little surprised at price, so looked inside and there was a Brother machine with bookelt, I checked and it was all there but no extra feet. I wanted the tote, so was willing to take the machine as a bonus (I need another machine like a hole in the head, but....). I cannot wait to try the machine out. I forget the number on the machine so cannot tell you any more about it. The Goodwills near me always have machines coming in and usually around $25. I have not checked other thrift stores, but I am not looking for a new/used machine either. I have not sold any fabric or books, but you might try Craig's list since that is more local than eBay and you probably would not have to ship the items you sell. Good luck.

I agree with the advice to look for vintage. You get a lot better machine for your money if your budget is limited. I have machines from treadles to a long arm. One of my favorites to piece on is a 1948 straight stitch Class 66 Singer. You can't beat the way it sews those straight quarter inch seems. Check craigslist, shopgoodwill.com, and let people know you're looking. The right machine will come along! Most vintage machines go for $40 to $50 at the most and are a steal! Good luck!

I need some white/cream blender fabric. If you have some for sale pm me. also i love fq's so we can talk if your interested
craigslist is a great source. I have seen only oneat our thrift store but we are a tiny community. I bought a 150.00 at walmart with a three year warranty. its a brother. great machine and I quilt every day. With their credit card you also have sixmonths to pay it off without interest. That is an affordable machine in my books. I am on a fixed SS income so it was something even I could afford. No issues at all. good luck finding your machine.. patience probably is the biggest issue when you oh so want to sew.
