Like so many others in this economy, I am in need of a job. I am looking for some thing as an administrative assistant or professional organizer. It's been a long time since I applied for a job. I've worked for a community college for about 4 years in various capacities, but I didn't really have to apply for those jobs. They were in need of someone to fill in on short notice and I was available. Obviously, that isn't going to happen this time. Thanks for listening. I appreciate any tips you can give. I live in NC. Again, thanks!

You might try your local salvation army or hospital because it is holiday time they may have a "holiday" position open that might lead to a steady full time job. Just a thought

Several jobs I have gotten through temp-to-perm positions through job agencies like Kelly, Manpower, and whatever local ones you may have.

Just be yourself; don't short-change your skills; have a short, but concise resume with you and look them in the eye. I have been in HR a long time and I know it feels awkward, but it will happen.

I have been looking for over a year and a half. The company I worked at for 29 years closed when the owner died. Jobs are in very short supply and applicants are great. One position had over 200 applications in less than 2 hours. Things will get better I hope. Good luck to you in your search.

I'm looking for a job, too. If you are good at organizing, why not start your own business. I'm sure there are people out there who would pay for your organizational skill. Hang in there, something will turn up.

Times are really hard. My stepsister has been looking here in Oregon for that kind of job and is having NO luck! She's tried temp agencies, too, and nothing. I'm praying the economy starts picking up!

I am thinking that Wal-mart should be looking for 'holiday' people to work temp. But that might lead into something perm.? Good luck.
