He wasn't giving the evil eye.......lol

Remember "we" are in his territory not the other way around.
People tend to forget such things.

About 2 yrs. ago, DH and I were sitting on our sunporch, reading Sunday paper and enjoying our coffee. I spied a 9 banded ground squirrel running across the driveway. Husband responded "where's a hawk when you need one?".

As I looked up, there sat a hawk on the basketball hoop!!! He sat there for some time and then flew over to the pergola outside my studio. Believe he as watching a fox squirrel (bigger meal) but he never caught it. Since then we have had several repeat visits. S-i-l told DH that it was a smart hawk, came when DH called him!! We live in the city, but have a green space behind. See hawks quite often around here.

Cornell Lab of Ornithology has information about the Swainson's hawk. Go to this page and see if thier call is the same.
I thought at first it was a red tailed hawk, but the tail is wrong, even for an immature...they are like mice here in NY state!! We get tons in at work. Have never heard of one going after someones pet though.
