My female shih tzu was 9 years old when I got my 7 year old rescue shih tzu male. She taught him how to climb the stairs, not be afraid of carpeting and tile, not be afraid of doorways, etc. She was like a very good mama to him, and is seldom jealous. Good luck.

Such a cutie, I have 2 German rotts and got them together they are from different litters and 10 days apart in age.
They are so jealous of each other it amazes me. They get the same amount of attention but you can't tell it if you try to pet one you have to pet 2, LOL but I lovem.

What a doll baby...I had 2 Silky Terriers for years...both died in Sept. (they were 16 years old). Angel died on the 6th and 20 days later Katie died of a broken heart. Those "girls" really loved each other. I miss them but now am free to travel more.

I have been in the world of one dog at a time and right now two at a time. I do love the two at a time. Except for this one issue..I am so worried about. The one that is 5 months younger has lymphoma, so when his time is up, how will the other one act and be?? For 8.5 years they have slept together, kenneled together..everything together. So we are very worried about the one that survives. So I am not so sure I want to have two again. I just am not sure.
