New foster

She is so cute! Thank You for taking care of her and showing her love. Sad stories regarding any animal just really tears me up. I have always said that if I had an acreage and the funds, I would fill up the space with unwanted pets.

Oh no, I didn't take it wrong, just trying to say that there might be a few decently nice Angel's around. ;) Yes, military people are REALLY bad about disposable pets. I also screen VERY carefully before adopting out to them. Since I live in a military town I proudly wear a button on my jacket that says "Pets are not disposable" and similar bumper sticker. Some people stop me and say they agree and one teenager asked me what it meant. I always advocate that military make GREAT foster homes, but not neccessarily great permanent homes. Maybe one day I'll reach just one person! Thank you for fostering too. We need more like us.[/quote]
We do need more like us. I have a quilt rolling around in my head about all the dogs that are put to sleep everyday. In my old neighborhood I was called the Crazy dog lady and wore the name proudly .
I think the idea of a military family being a foster instead of adopting is a great idea. I am going to have to pass that idea on to some of the people in my old rescue. Maybe they can push that idea when someone comes in. I thought about seniors being fosters but not military.
