Ha, I dislike my last new stove so I don't baby it. I keep my metal racks in place and use the self clean feature at least once a month. I don't have gas and all the electric stores are not to my liking so I'm keeping this one I don't like until we move. No use buying another electric one I won't like. At least it stays very clean. I love the self cleaning feature. I keep the vent system on so no smell or fumes to worry about. And the more frequent you use the self clean feature the less fumes there are. If you wait until the oven is dirty then yeah the fumes will be bad.
