    or make a quilt...sew a diff lace dollie onto your cotton sq.

    I think you could use crocheted doilys anywhere you use battenburg lace, particularly if you were willing to cut it to fit a pattern. I would love to see a lace blanket/quilt for a christening - all white lace or antique crochet, heirloomed and made to give to future generations. I wanted to do this and my DGD wanted her quilt made of camo. Go figure.
