DH's German family always said.........Never enter the new year with a dirty house and always eat pork, saurkraut, and herring, for health, wealth and happiness. We have been doing this for 32 years.

ok - black eyed peas on on the stove - with onions and ham hocks (boy THEY sure went up in price!), pork chops are thawing, cabbage is in the refrigerator, I have to bring in the money on the window ledge, laundry is done....oh oh! the house?? not so clean.......my husband says I am CRAZY!!

Had a "dirty" house but since I've been sick most of the month AND I'm the only one living here, I think the good luck spirits will forgive me. :P

Think I will have pork chops for lunch with some black eye peas, but no collard greens (yuck!).
