Those are beautiful shots Karla! Looks like a great day to me and I know that NYC is only a small part of NY...but the people who live in NYC think it is the "only" place in NY  .....welll....some of them anyway

Well, for city folk, thinking about NY as NYC isn't exactly a bad image. For me, it is what I think of when I hear New York, but I LOVE Manhattan and all that goes along with it. When I go there, I get tingly and feel like I'm going to jump out of my skin with all there is to do, see, feel (okay, the smells can get gross!!)...you know what I'm saying. The Park, the Met, the Village, SoHo, Chelsea - the art, music, fashion, people watching, -it's unlike anything! I live near San Francisco, and while I think it's the most beautiful city in the world, I do LOVE NYC!!

Karla, thank you for showing us the other side of New York. For me, I visualize NYC because that is what I hear about the most. As usual, your pictures are gorgeous! My 2 favorites are #33-just the green of the water--This is not blue! and #34. I think 34 would make gorgeous fabric that I would buy in a heart beat--for that matter-I would but fabric that looked like 33 as well. I also really enjoyed the close-ups of the shore line. I love the curves, textures, colors and negetive spaces that nature creates.

gaigai-would nessie and her baby be lurking in the tree trunk?

I love NY. I lived in Corinth, NY (60 miles north of Albany) for about 10 years so when I think of NY, I think of the Adirondacks. Corinth was a town of only 5,000 people when I lived there so as a kid I couldn't wait to get out. I came to California and now live on the Central Coast (1/2way between LA and San Francisco) It's absolutely gorgeous. Your post makes me want to say the same about CA. CA is not Just LA or SAN FRANCISCO.
