Beautiful fish I had them a long time ago and could sit there all day and watch them, and wow 65 tanks that's incredible. I just cringe thinking about cleaning all of them that would be very labor intensive.

    Those are some "fancy" fish.

I have had Betta's for years. Just love them...they are like fish-dogs. They watch me out of their tanks and swim around keeping me in view until they get fed in the mornings. They are very happy in a decent sized tank and their care is also easy. Mine are in 2 gallon sized clear ginger jars (actuallyl their tanks are lamp bases). I read an article once about an experiment done wtih male Bettas. They put them in a lake where they were free to swim away from each other, but the two males stayed in about 24" area and fought to the death. They are wayyyyy territorial...so...they are very happy just living in their small spaces.

I had a VERY stressful job and I had a beta on my desk who I kept on my desk whom I named Fred. He kept me company and my bold pressure from reaching the boiling boing many times. They are very relaxing the way they move. He would always swim up to the side of the tank when I came in to work, and I would say, "well at least somebody is happy to see me." it was a running joke around the office, our brand adopted him as our mascot.
