They like a challenge, also they like the money. Think of the nerves of the wife and children. I'll bet they can't get life insurance either.

I don't like suspense either. My husband used to tease me because I would watch certain movies with a pillow handy to put in front of my eyes. I grew up with the Wallendas and remember the tragedy when one fell.

It is very difficult to understand why a man would do something like this. I simply cannot fathom how his young family would feel if he had fallen to his death. No, I don't admire his feat at all nor his plans to perform such foolhardy stunts.

I think people like him really have no concern for the future of his family. Like if anything happens to him what would they do? And to put his family through the potential grief. How uncaring is that? Clearly thinking only of himself and really worthless fame of having his name in the Guinness Book of World Records?

It was on but I was working so I listened more than watched. I think for them it is more about upholding the family tradition. I think they've been taught as small children - this is who you are and what you do with your life. And they are taught that this is a way of respecting their predecessers. They don't know any different. At least that was my take on it.

I agree!!! It's like testing fate, or testing God. Doesn't make any sense to me, just for a name.

Would God have been blamed if he had fallen?

Some people climb mountains, some people cross oceans in small boats, some people go into space, some walk high wires. There are many people who are more challenged, with more adventure in theirs soals than the ordinary man. I would never question their motive, or diminish their accomplishments just because I don't have the nerve or the desire to do what they do. I am thankful that there are people who are not content with the white picket fence.

It was interesting, but he crossed the Little Canyon on Hualapai land, not the Grand Canyon.
