Great idea! I've got to use up all the paper first and there's tons of it! Your bags look so pretty! Who would want paper wrapped gifts with all the pretty Xmas. prints available today? TFS!

I think that's a wonderful idea. I also, however, would carry it a step further and even send out of town gifts in the bags. It would be like an added little gift that the recipient could either keep to store something in, or pass on as wrapping to someone else. Think how far a little bag could travel. In my family, we all buy inexpensive plates at garage sales and use them when taking baked goods to someone's house. Then they get passed on and on. Who knows where that first one is now?

I did that one year and never saw one reused...so I stopped. No one seemed impressed.

Oh, they could use it for the same thing. Or to keep stuff in. Maybe unbreakable ornaments.

Fantastic idea! I've gotten quite a few Christmas fabric pieces at garage sales, some too small to do much with, etc, so will definitely try this out!

One thing I found with making your own bag, you can make the bag to the size of the original gift, and when traveling for the holidays, I didn't have to worry about paper wrapping paper tearing or bows falling off. My family are great ones for recycling so they are used again and again
